Channeling the Reindeer
For those of you who are worried that your favourite West Country troubadours had disappeared off the face of the earth, worry not! After their triumphant live debut at the Porter last month, the two balustrader's decided to take some 'personal time' to develop side projects for fear of burning out the balustrade experience prematurely. Cart's took the time to go off and learn Esperanto while developing his post graduate studies in Flemish weaving from the 19th century (developing a rivetting 90 page thesis on the famous mitten collection of Archduke Willfred IV of the Lowlands). Meanwhile, Lex has taken up weasel breeding and has spent his time trying to cross breed a greater spotted stoat with the Great British house weasal to create a new species of super-weasel that he believes can become a real contender for weasel of the year at Weaselmania 2005 in Trowbridge later this year.
Amazingly, with such successful side projects going on, the balustrade boys decided this week that the time was finally right to return to their creative mecca, the Alpine Studios of Bath and begin work on some new material. So with the festive season just around the corner, what better way to celebrate the birth of our lord Jesus Christ than with some brand new balustrade material?!
So here it is, revealed exclusively to you, the readers of the balustrade weblog, the tracklisting for the new balustrade Xmas single (not available in any shop)
1. BALUSTRADE XMAS
2. WINTERLONG
3. JINGLEY BELLS (live at Alpine Studios)
We hope to catch up with the boys in the coming days to find out just exactly what is involved, but according to balustrade HQ it will be 'another tour de force, continuing where Stalisfield left of, featuring the same dynamic and innovatiove prodcution as well as the catchy sing along hooks that you expect from the alt.westcountry pioneers'.
Sounds intriguing, so keep tuned for more exciting info!
