You Thought Shyness Was To Blame...

Hello everybody. Carts here, with a tear welling in my eye. I’m very sorry indeed to have to announce that this is the very last Balustrade blog entry on this site. No more will the world be able to visit www.balustrade.blogspot.com and read all about their favourite alt.westcountry blues/folk/popsters. No more can they read sagas of our lifetime friend, mentor, idol, guru and all-round role model, Nigel “Pound” Yorkie. No more weekly-ish updates on new songs, new covers, live exploits. No more fish. No more ‘hilarious’ jokes about me and what I get up to with woodland creatures (which is my own business, thank you very much. I don’t need anyone sticking their nose in. Besides, there isn’t room…fnr…fnr…). No more tales from Thomas Acres, Lexington’s weekend pad in south Dorset. No more strange references to non-league football. No more bitterness.

Not here, at least.

Somewhere else.

Yes.

Somewhere else.

I don’t know where and I don’t know what, but the rotting cadaver that is the Balustrade blog is about to be given a great bit kiss of life-type thingy, thanks to Lex and his overactive computer glands. I’m under oath not to reveal too much now, but watch this space. Or rather not this space but a different space altogether. I’ve said too much already! Gah!

There only remains time for me to say: Arctic Monkeys: We salute you! Regina Spektor, I salute you (Can’t speak for my tangerine-headed band-chum on this one)
Lost: I’ve finally waded through the entire first series on DVD, and whilst this makes for much better viewing than it did on the ad-strewn TV broadcasts, I still want to slap them all silly until they tell me what’s going on. Or, as I strongly suspect, are they a bit like the Bath City back-four: They might pretend they know the plan, but look a little deeper and you can see the fear and doubts in their eyes as they hurtle down the abyss.

Ummm… Oh yeah, we’ve just finished writing our new song (Swamp Man), which is a blooze-fuelled stomper than does exactly what it says on the tin.

So then, until our technical bods sort out the future, I shall bid you ‘adieu’, but this is no goodbye. Oh, and if you get the chance, listen to the mighty fine new album by Isobell Campbell and Mark Lanegan. Beautigrowl is my new favourite genre.

So, for the Balustrade Blog, this is goodbye. But keep your eyes peeled for further developments on this front.
