We're back baby!
As Paul Newman says at the end of Colour of Money 'I'm baaaaaaaack!!'
As a result of several technical issues with the new Balustrade site, combined with the general rubbishness of the Balustrade boys themselves, we've decided to return to our spiritual blogging home and restart the original Balustrade Web log. So we caught up with Lex and found out just what the Balustrade boys have been up to.
"Well, seeing as the weather has improved I've been spending even more time than usual inside in darkened rooms. Us sun-dodging carrot tops don't like the summer, unless we spend all my time rubbing on factor 50 Ambre Solaire and taking industrial strength anti-hystemins.
However staying inside hasn't been such a bad thing as it has meant we've got on with loads of stuff for the balustrade album. Thanks to the recent bank holidays we've taken a couple of days in the studio and managed to get quite a lot of work done. We currently have 10 out of the 12 songs for alt.westcountry vol.1 and half a dozen of those are pretty much finished. It's all sounding really interesting and we've been trying out a lot of new stuff (such as playing in time) and the Balustrade sound is really fleshing out. We're hoping to get it done by the end of the summer, however we have the 3 most difficult songs to do and so hopefully we'll get that them done before Xmas and finally finish this beast and move on to new things.
I also got to see Balustrade's spiritual godfathers, the mighty Gomez at Bristol Academy last night. They were fantastic, although they still look like students, just slightly porkier than usual!"
And with that, the delicate tones of whining cartoon frog eminated from his pocket and Lex was dragged away by important phone call from home - so I'm guessing his dinner was ready. Hopefully we'll catch up with Carter sometime soon and we can hear all about the other side of all things alt.westcountry.
So keep tuned Balustrade fans, and hopefully we'll have lots of news on the album as well as a few pictures from the recording sessions that are apparently floating around in cyberspace.
